I never really wrote SFL as a stand alone language.... but certainly wrote loads of VME patches between 1980 and 1986!!

Dave Mullier Derek Lambert ex ICL invented this (based on a language called Staple) and I coded the first implementation. Initially called Maple this name was changed to SFL as it was thought too sexy by marketing. Barry Byrne and Richard Hall completed the team, which lived with the 'New Range Supervisor D' mainframe project then with the VME/K team. I can recall the first time the whole K Operating System was assembled under SLF.
